My friend, all that we have and all that we are is from God. How - TopicsExpress

My friend, all that we have and all that we are is from God. How few recognize this great truth, even among the followers of Christ. God has bestowed upon us His great love in creating us and has redeemed us by His blood yet many do not give to God that which is His. As we live we are to give our time, talent, and means to the glory of God for the salvation of souls, yet many hold back to themselves the means by which God desires to reach them. We must do all that is in our power to do for the glory of God. The main reasons why we do not do more for Christ is because of selfishness and a lack of faith in God to supply our needs. When we are called to give, many times we hold back because of our own perceived needs, thinking that if we give there will not be enough for us, but many of us have a great deal more than we really need and we lack the faith to trust in God to supply our want. When Jesus sent out the disciples to preach the gospel, He did not provide for them all that they needed at the beginning of their journey, but when they had come back they recognized that all of the needs had been satisfied. If we are to be effective workers for Christ we must learn to trust in His power to satisfy our true needs rather then trust in our own resources to sustain us. As we exercise faith in Him, we will be rewarded with manna from Heaven and our faith will be strengthened for the future. In the last days when we are called to give up all that we have to stand firm for God, only those who have developed a trusting relationship with Christ will be able to trust in Him when it mattes most. Now, during a time of relative peace and prosperity is the time for us to develop our trust in God for if we wait until the testing time to begin it will be too late, for it is in a crisis that our characters are revealed. The crisis reveals where our trust truly lies. As we daily abide in Christ, He will abide in us and we will learn to trust in Him that we may be able to trust in Him to see us through earths darkest hour. May you abide in Christ that you may lean to trust in Him today so that you will be able to trust in Him when it matters most. God Bless,
