My friend and brother Todd Lara I thought Id share a few things I had to say about Todd from his eulogy 6 years ago. I had thought that I would post the whole eulogy today but I decided to just post a few of the best parts that most of us that knew him would recognize and remember him by. Todd had many great qualities. He was a caring, concerned, and considerate friend. He was a modest and a man of few words. Unless something needed to be said, then watch out. He was a gifted outdoorsman. He always seemed to have the patience to make the right shot or wait until the fish were biting again. Todd had many nick names. His mom once told me that they tried to choose a name that wouldnt get made fun of or many nick names given. His list was a long one.... Toddler, Toad, Blue Tiger (after his blue truck with tiger stripes) Big Easy ( His personality) or 103 ( His radio number that his parents used to call in his truck) I feel that was a great tribute to what kinda guy he was. Todd was a great father. His children were a great source of his pride and accomplishment. His children helped generate those ear to ear smiles that we all grew to know and love. I often wonder what kind of uncle he would be to my son. A great one I am sure. I am also sure that Todd never knew how many lives he had touched. He was many different things to many different people. The one consistent thing is that he was always there, wit his sleeves up and ready to help you in anyway. If you needed him... one way or another he was there. There are many things that I will remember about him. Im sure everyone that knew him knew of at least 2 stories about the adventures and misadventures of Todd Lara. This is one of his many treasures he has left behind. I will never be able to watch a crop duster land or drive by a field of leaky sprinkler pipe without thinking of my friend Todd. We will forever miss his smile, laugh, and friendship. He will never be forgotten.
