Your core (transverse abs, obliques, lower back & pelvic floor muscles) has been weakened and it needs tender loving care to get it back into action. ------------------------------------------- Supine hip extension is a glute (buttocks) activation exercise which is a lumbar (lower back) stability movement. This movement allows your gluteus muscles to be fired up and it activates the pelvic floor muscles. **focus on squeezing the glutes to lift the hips** !! Using your heel to push defeats the purpose as it utilizes the quadriceps muscles and thus may lead to a hypertension of the lower back. ------------------------------------------- This movement can be done in an isometric manner, meaning you hold it for 30-60s or in a repetitive motion seen in the video.
