My gawd, my gawd. An American. A true, honest to goodness American, who exercised his right to speech, thought, criticism, and a very thorough explication of truth, in terms of facts and what they mean, despite our own personal and collective illusions. Like a powerful speech delivered as if extemporaneous, this little video here says more in the moment about who we are and what weve become than anything else Ive seen or heard since Walter Cronkite tearfully announced the death of JFK on national television.
