My goal every day this month is to post words from songs that really hit my heart, words that I can imagine standing and singing before God with the heavenly choir. Not all will be cry songs (because I can take only so much of that), so dont worry. If I can find a video to go w/ it, I will attach it. Some of them will be good ole hymns, which I love. Im borrowing my husbands words for our congregation about Advent: It’s a time where we reflect on and celebrate the coming of Christ – past, present and future. We celebrate the birth of the Messiah, Emmanuel, God with us who came to earth set us free from the law of sin and death. We celebrate the coming of Christ in the present day as he opens our eyes to our need for a Savior, moves us to a life of repentance and gives us a new identity in Him. And, we look forward to Christ’s return with great anticipation when he will make all things new and restoration will be complete. As Christ followers, we believe that when Christ returns, what was broken by the fall will be restored. We join all creation in anticipation of this event. We have hope, and we do not hope in vain. YES!! The part of the song that I love: Youre the Lord of all creation, and still you know my heart. The Author of salvation, Youve loved us from the start.
