My good deed yesterday: Assigned to watch the entrance for the Naturalization Ceremony. It was the access point for those attending the ceremony and exit point for the military guests. Many men and women were in uniform from different countries. As they departed, I unhooked the chain to allow them off. I thanked each one for their service and shook many hands. The ones at the front told me that they could have unhooked the chain. I replied, It is a small gesture of my appreciation for what you do. My job is mute. Yours is not. I thank you.. Everyone one of them thanked me. I told each and everyone of them, No, I thank you for what you do. Dont thank me, but thank all those that serve, thank your families, and thank your buddies.
