My good friend and ex-colleague Ken Banks achieved a lifetime ambition when he wrote this book 4 years ago. Ken served with the former Tynemouth Borough Police Force and was a great Police Historian. He was also very passionate and knowledgeable about Tynemouth - the area where he lived. He had an amazing collection of Police Memorabilia and anything to do with the old Tynemouth Borough. Sadly, Ken passed away soon after the book was published and was never able to fully appreciate its local value. The book is still available and contains a very interesting historical account of Tynemouth Borough Police Force, as well as an interesting overview of Tynemouth and North Shields. Its only £4.99 from Summerhill Books or local booksellers and definitely a recommended read.
