My good friends at Flex Your Rights introduced me to the concept of jury nullification awhile ago. Im telling you, I see it more and more in the news. Everyone needs to understand this concept. As a juror, you do not have to convict someone of breaking a law that you as a juror disagree with or if you believe the law should not be applied in a particular case. As a juror, you cannot be punished for nullification. We need more forward-thinking jurors, more diverse jurors. So dont be afraid, step up when you get the call! (I used to do anything and everything I could do to get out of jury duty, not anymore.) Good jurors nullify bad laws. :)
