My grandmother Precious Streit went home this morning about 4:15 am. It is bittersweet we know she is where she wanted to be, but the loss of her on earth will take some getting used to. I have changed my role in the past few weeks from caregiver to one of making sure her final requests were honored. She donated her body for medical research. We will receive her ashes back in a year. She requested for ppl to not waste money buying flowers, she always liked ones cut from their homes better. She said if anyone feels like doing something in honor of her to make donations to her church Our Fathers House in olive branch. We have not made arrangements but will hold a Celebration/Memorial service. Just dont know when. In place of a story I would like to share one of her favorite scriptures. She would recite this and at the end she would say O joy I just cant wait to go home Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:6-8 KJV)
