My grandmother has lost three of her sisters this week, two today alone. She is one of six siblings and now four have gone on to be with Lord. They all lived long and full lives and did a great job of keeping our extended family close despite our geographical distance. Some of my favorite memories from childhood involve our two annual gatherings and the trips I would make with my grandparents to the country to visit our farmhouse and we would drop in on her siblings for visits. My Aunt Thelma was the first foster momma I ever knew decades before taking that same title myself. My Aunt Lillian was like another grandmother to me as she didnt have grands of her own and the biggest Elvis fan Ive ever known. Heaven has gained two great saints today and Im thankful that their earthly suffering is ended.
