My grandmother/mother/best friend fought the good long hard - TopicsExpress

My grandmother/mother/best friend fought the good long hard battle...she was our MIRACLE that God shared with us for an extra 11 years=) Maw(Margaret Nell Proctor) was called home to receive her angel wings at a little past 11 pm last night (Oct 31st). She will be greatly missed...I have had the honor and blessing of being be her side for 24/7 the past seven months...I am not sure how I am going to cope with her no longer being here=( Thank you so much for everyones thoughts prayers, call, texts, visits,& food...they meant the world to my family and I. Please, say an extra prayer for my Paw(Don Proctor)...he & Maw had been married for 54 years!! I am not eloquent with words nor do I try to be...However, this poem pretty much sums up how I feel=) Waiting at Heavens Door Death beckoned her with outstretched hand And whispered softly of an unknown land, But she was not afraid to go For though the path she did not know She took deaths hand without a fear For God who safely brought her here Had promised He would lead the way Into eternitys bright day. For none of us need go alone Into the valley that is unknown, But, guided by our Fathers hand We journey to the promised land. She was your special loving Mother You shared your lives with one another, And youll find comfort for your grief In knowing her death brought sweet relief. For, now she is free from all suffering and pain And your great loss became her gain... You know that her love is with you still For she loved you in life and always will. Love like hers can never end Because it is the perfect blend Of joy and sorrows, smiles and tears, That just grew stronger with the years. Love like hers can never die For shes taken it with her to the sky... So think of Mum as living above No farther away than your undying love, For now she is happy and free once more And shes waiting for you at Heavens door. Helen Steiner Rice
