My grandmother passed away yesterday after a stroke and an awful - TopicsExpress

My grandmother passed away yesterday after a stroke and an awful stay at High Wycombe, the worst hospital Ive ever been to. A so called cardiac specialist centre which decided as soon as she arrived to just leave her to die in a private room. Not only not attempting to do anything to help her, but also neglecting to come see her and depriving her of food for a week and a half. All under the pretext that at 98 years old she was too old to bother. Basically, no matter what you do with your life, were all basically going to be defined by our final days when, in all likelihood well be in vegetative states in a hideously spartan ward, being treated like a pitiful obsolete broken object by desensitised doctors with a superiority complex. We live our lives racing towards a finish line which involves total humiliation and everyone is pretending it wont be like that for thembecause we all harbour fantasies of dying in bed at home. Theres really no point in living to be old, because the world is in denial that the population is ageing. Everyone just wants to keep pretending theyre young, and when the reality sets in, the system just cant handle it, and we find ourselves at the mercy of understaffed hospitals, and doctors who just care about quotas rather than people.
