My great grandmother Harriot Stanton Blatch, and my grandmother Nora Stanton Blatch DeForest Barbey marched in the 5th Avenue parade in New York City in 1910s. With them was my aunt - only four years old. Later in my aunts life, I asked her what she remembered. She replied, We were very serious; we marched! All of these women are descendants of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a pioneer of womans suffrage and rights. Looking back, all four generations of my family were involved in The Cause, spelled with a capital C. I am the beneficiary; I know I stand on the shoulders of others. Onward, Coline Jenkins
