My hats off to full-time homeschoolers. Ive been homeschooling the boys through ski season for a second time in order to give us flexibility for competitions- its really hard! Next week they return to the classroom. I thought I would be relieved, but was surprised to be feeling suddenly panicking at the thought of not hanging out with them everyday - same feeling as when I sent them to Kindergarten. As hard as its been - I prefer it to missing them everyday. Wondering about our concept that children should be separated from their families for the majority of everyday starting at age 5. Wonder too what revolutionary changes lay ahead for public education and classrooms with technology. Half day schools? A few days a week? One week camp style periodically? All online public schools? So many possibilities.
