My head is aching with the slow-drying hair inside the stuffy house, along with a combination of Vadas and a delayed lunch. Yet again I am forced to perform the usual circus with the idol I do not care for. And when I "put the aarati" my mother extended to my eyes, it is a moment of profound hilarity mixed with self loathing. The burdensome clothes and ornaments I could finally remove after two hours, but the special awkward atmosphere in the home will linger on till tomorrow. Festivals like these are usually my days of utter hopelessness. Happy Chaturthi, Lulzzz
