My heart aches for the willing workers of Johnson County that are - TopicsExpress

My heart aches for the willing workers of Johnson County that are in desperate need of work....I have people weekly dropping by my shop and office looking for work of any kind...I do what I can to help them, but we all need to think of the impact and consequences of our community when we shop for items outside of our area that we can find here. I dont know of a business in town that will not match prices for same item found elsewhere. I have lived here for over 30 years and have never seen our town in such a desperate state and so many people in need. We have lost good merchants and continue to lose them because we dont extend a hand to help those who try to operate a business in our town. When we spend money in another town or county or on the internet, we are helping their schools, building up their towns and creating jobs for their community while we are suffering emotionally & financially...I implore all of you, if you have odd jobs or work please help our own and if you need something, please look in your own hometown before taking your money elsewhere. We have wonderful merchants and good, honest, capable people that want to work (and too proud to ask for handouts) because of the coal crisis and loss of jobs, that are in dire need....Ill now get off my soapbox and thank you for at least taking the time to read this.....Have a blessed night....
