My heart and mind are focused on #Ferguson right now. Aside from the fear in my gut imagining the militarized police response to nonviolent protests, there is an overwhelming sense of hope and power Ive seen in the last three months. Its hard to describe the beautiful resistance that is happening on the ground so Ill just let this moment taken from the #BlackLivesMatter teach-in during #FergusonOctober illustrate that. The powerful young Black Womyn who built this organizing space and lead this is Patrisse Marie Cullors-Brignac. She and so many young Black leaders like Larry Fellows III and Johnetta Elzie are leading this struggle with valor, strength, strategy and an intersectional lens and analysis. It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains. - Assata Shakur
