My heart breaks for the misinformed. Theres so many people out there that have been educated about Christianity in completely the wrong way, making the whole notion of Jesus and the church undesirable. It breaks my heart that these warped perspectives out there keep so many people from knowing the beauty and magnificence of our God. First of all, there is a HUGE difference between religion and Jesus. A great reference on this is Jefferson Bethkes video on Why I Hate Religion But Love Jesus. ((link: https://youtube/watch?v=1IAhDGYlpqY)) But I want to clarify that being a Christian is NOT about being perfect and is NOT about living by a set of rules and regulations for life. Christianity is NOT about what things you do in life that will send you to hell or the things that you do that will send you to Heaven. In fact, it really has very little to do with any physical ACTION you do in your daily life at all! But let me clarify. Being a Christian is simply about JESUS. It is about KNOWING Him and ACCEPTING His Love. It is about knowing that man is sinful by nature. No person walking this earth is 100% GOOD. We all have ugly sides of us - even seen in the simplest things like Greed and Jealousy - things that just bring out the worst in us. Its about knowing that because of this, Jesus came and took the death we deserved for all those worst sides of ourselves. Ones fate in eternity lies only in whether or not you have ACCEPTED Christs love. All that means is understanding that Jesus is God, and He died FOR YOU. He died for the person who cut you off in traffic today, for the person that really gets under your skin, for your boss/teacher/parent that you cant stand. He died for the homeless man you see on the street going to work everyday. He died for ALL mankind because He LOVES us. He looks at us and sees a beautiful creation and desires to spend eternity with us. He sees our flaws, but desires to wash them away with His love. All He asks is that you acknowledge the fact that He loves you. And once you truly acknowledge that in your heart, its impossible not to love Him back, because I promise, when you do that, you will begin to see Him work in your life in incredible ways. Fellow Christians, pray. Pray with ferocity. Pray fervently. Pray never ceasing. Our world becomes more and more broken with each day that passes and people need Jesus now more than ever.
