My heart is at its heaviest today. My very good friend, one I called a brother, Jamie Mitchell, passed away. He was a real warrior, a fighter of life, and he loved music about as much as I did... We lived halfway around the world from each other (hes Australian), but our humor, pains, and pasts brought us together as good friends. Jamie talked to me a lot when I was going through my split with Heidi. We shared some really great times, just talking. And he was a really weird guy, just like me. Ive never met anyone on this planet who got me the way he did. I will remember Jamies excitement for all things, whatever was happening, he was into it, fully. His intensity was genuine, never less than one hundred percent from him. And if you were a friend, on any level, he literally put himself in front of a train to be there for you! Im still trying to let this sink in, its still weird. But Im thinking about Jamie today. I know he put up a good fight with what was happening to him, perhaps his strength is needed elsewhere. I just know that wherever it is hes going, theyre not ready for him, they better look out! Jamie and I used to play this song to torment each other (and everyone listening) when we played games. We both swear up and down that this is one of the greatest songs given to mankind. He used to have my phone number, he called me up once, and just played it. I listened to the whole thing, and him giggling in the background, and hung up. Playing this one last time for you, brother...
