My heart is breaking! Please help!! Feel free to share! Dear Pet Parents and Dog Lovers at Heart, It is with such a heavy heart and (literally) tear filled eyes I write this plea. I need to find a home for one of my four-legged babies, Jesse. He’s a rescue dog. That is to say, I rescued him from the storm raging outside my office building two years ago and his unfailing loyalty, love and affection has rescued my heart every day since. Sometime ago, I lost my job and am now unable to stay in our home of 10 years. In two weeks, I’ll be moving into a small apartment with a friend and am unable to take my Jesse boy with me. This so breaks my heart. My son and I love him so dearly. My prayer is that God will find someone that will love and care for him with the same loyalty, love and affection he’s shown us and we’ve shown him in return. I can’t tell you how old he is, but I think he’s probably at least 5 years old. He appears to be part Chihuahua and part Jack Russell. He’s been neutered and has never made a mistake in the house! He minds so well and is so attentive. He’s the perfect inside dog. He loves to snuggle and has the best lay-in-your-lap personality. He loves being outside, but can be aggressive with other dogs (because he’s just so loyal and protective of his family!). My son has a Cocker Spaniel and I have a small Papitese and Jesse acclimated fine with them both. (That’s not to say he cares that much about them nor do they care that much about him, but there’s no dog rage between them.) Not unlike many Chihuahuas behave when they feel their owner is being threatened, Jesse has threatened to nip strangers and/or aggressors. Hes never outright bitten anyone, but he has that potential. He’s just super protective and loyal. My son and I both understand that about him and love him for it. It’s because of this nature and his innate nature of loyalty toward me and our family, I’m desperate to find someone that understands that about him and will care for him with that understanding in mind. I’d prefer his new home to have a fenced in backyard with a single female (he seems to prefer females over males) and no children (my son is 15, so he’s not as “active” in the home as small children). He can become very anxious and needs a good routine he can depend on. I wake up early each morning, go out with the dogs to potty and then feed them. He comes back in and crawls under the covers and spends a good part of the day there. If I’m at home, I’ll go out with them again around lunch time to potty and check the mail, etc. Then around 4 or 5 pm, I take them all for a walk (he doesn’t behave well when he sees other dogs and I have to calm him down a few times during the walk, but for the most part he minds really well). Then I feed them one last time before going back into the house. I go out with them one or two more times before going to bed and then he sleeps under the covers either with me or my son. He really is such a dear sweet dog. I pray there is someone that will fall in love with him as much as we have. He would protect you with his life and keep you company through everything! Thank you for reading my story and please email or call with any questions or interests. Blessings, Diane Owens Diane4232@gmail (423) 521-2156
