My heart is breaking and Im furious at the same time. My Morgan - TopicsExpress

My heart is breaking and Im furious at the same time. My Morgan (Tealwoods Wanna Be A Winner) was killed by a truck last night. The neighbor and I picked her up off the road, still alive but barely. In the 3 minutes back to my house, she passed away in the back of my van. The reason Im so furious is that my neighbor was right there in the middle of the road, waving his arms, flashers and headlights on ... trying to stop this truck. The truck never slowed down, just slammed into Morgan while the neighbor had to leap into the ditch to avoid being hit himself! This wasnt an accident, he deliberately ran her down and almost killed my neighbor too. Berry was hit also but barely we think ... just enough to send her flying, has scrapes from the asphalt on her chin and face and hip and is in a lot of pain. I got her checked out today, shes on pain meds but hopefully will be OK. Morgan would have been 11 years old in December; these photos are from this summer at over 10 1/2. Notice no gray except a few hairs on her chin? She still moved like she was 5 or 6 ... I always said she was amazing, would live forever. She was champion pointed, had nice specialty wins including Open Black, and has produced fabulous puppies for me. Including my Elmer, Buddy, great hunters, service dogs, therapy dogs, and a certified search and rescue dog. I dearly loved Morgan, she had the most endearing little quirks, like going backwards down hallways that she didnt want to travel. She did all the house hunting with me when we moved here and slept on my bed every night because she was pregnant; she whelped my first Virginia litter in Buddy Voshells kennel. A real trouper. Anyone whos had to ever do it knows how devastating it is to pick one of your dying dogs up off the road. Im still in shock. If any of my friends are attorneys and have any advice, please e-mail me privately. The Sheriffs deputy said that we have no recourse as dogs shouldnt be in the road, and animals get hit all the time. But, this was deliberate, reckless driving and actually tried to run my neighbor over too. We have his license number because his plate fell off into the ditch when he hit Morgan. Rest well, my sweet baby girl. My love for you never ends, it will go on forever.
