My heart is breaking with this post. I need to rehome my dog. Slooshkin (aka Sloosh) is an 8 year old 90 lb. Chesapeake Bay mix. Unfortunately he has nipped at my son twice without any warning. The first time my son fell on him right after we rescued him (~6 months ago) so we thought it was just a fear reaction. Today he did it again with my son only petting him. He nips with no growl or apparent warning. I love this dog, but I love my son more, so Slooshkin needs to find a new home. He also has hip dysplasia and is on Rimadyl (~$90 per month). He has been great with our other high energy lab puppy and three cats. He just cannot be placed with a family with young children. This dog is a snuggler and loves to hand out kisses with his giant Gene Simmons tongue. I know that he is going to be hard to place with his health issues and history of nipping, but this a very loving animal. Finally, Im a strong advocate of forever homes and I had every intention of keeping this dog throughout his lifetime; nipping is the one deal breaker I have. Please keep the negative comments to yourself; this hurts enough, and if youre not actively helping find him a new home, the comments will only clutter the feed.
