My heart is broken. The same way I applied to give a workshop on AOT at Alternatives and was rejected, my application to serve on Advisory Board of Disability Rights NY was rejected (sob, sob). I was surprised. There were only 7 applicants for 10 open slots. Apparently they were concerned that I think Disability Rights should help people with serious mental illness get treatment (rather than their focus, which is freeing them from treatment). Oh well. I tried. October 1, 2014 VIA EMAIL Dear Mr. Jaffe: I am writing to inform you that Board did not approve your application to the Advisory Council of the Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness program. Thank you for your interest. Very truly yours, Timothy A. Clune, Esq.
