My heart is so heavy right now! As a wannabe seamstress I - TopicsExpress

My heart is so heavy right now! As a wannabe seamstress I frequently referenced Meeshas videos because they were fun and she made sewing clothes look SO easy! I remember trying to make a peplum top because she whipped one up in like 10 minutes. Ive not experienced domestic violence but Ive witnessed it. It is a serious situation that too many people sum up as a private family matter (YES that is a reference to the Beyoncé/Jay-Z/Solange situation) but the fact of the matter is, if you know about it or even worse witness it, YOU are now a part of it. You now have a responsibility to do your best to protect & serve the victims - ESPECIALLY if you know them personally! I get that many women in theses situations are grown and will ultimately do what they want, but as a responsible party I feel its our duty to these women NOT to give up on them. NOT to write it off as thats her business. Shes a grown woman... Thats a cop out. Far too many young girls & women lose their lives at the hands of domestic violence. It is so NOT a private matter! I have been a long time subbie of Meeshas & had no idea what she was going through. This is another instance where we feel so connected to YouTubers yet REALLY dont know ANYTHING about them or who they are as people, except what they CHOOSE to share. Please lift this family up in prayer. Her children, siblings, parents, extended family and friends. Pray also for the ex-boyfriend and his family. Pray for the YouTubers you watch. Show them love NOW. You never know. The video you just watched might be the last one they ever post. That nasty comment you left, might be the last one they ever read. bit.ly/diymeesha
