My heart is so very heavy. Its a hard world we live in. Life is fragile. Very fragile. Every day men, women and children fight to stay alive. From cancer, heart disease, birth defects, accidents (and trust me I know all about children and accidents) and so many other situations that cannot be cured or fixed. And then I read the news where a 4 year old child fights for his life from abuse. Abuse. FOUR YEARS OLD. Something that should have NEVER happened. There is NO excuse. What could a 4 year old have done to deserve this? Played too loud? Broken something? Got in mommys make up? Nope. None of that deserving. Theres nothing that child could have done to deserve this. And apparently older signs of abuse noted??? What kind of world do we live in? Its absolutely heart breaking to know that this child does not suffer from an incurable disease that couldnt be prevented, but suffers from the heavy handed Ogre that doesnt deserve him. And it saddens me even more to know that he isnt alone. Thousands of children die needlessly from abuse and neglect. If you dont want them, dont have them. Or better yet give them to someone who will love and nurture them. Because I promise you, someone out there would cherish them the way they should be.
