My heart is very heavy right now, I just left the funeral home - TopicsExpress

My heart is very heavy right now, I just left the funeral home after visiting a friend that just lost her mom to Cancer, when I got into my truck my phone goes off with another friend of mine informing me that her uncle just died. Her uncle was like a dad to me while we were stationed over in Hawaii. I met Guerry and Linda Griggs when I was 13 while I was on a cruise with their family, Sam, Peggy Eklund Griggs, and Becky Griggs. Then we met up again when I was 19 and was stationed in Hawaii, while they too were stationed there again. Guerry was a CSM in the Army. Guerry was well respected by others, received lots of medals for all that he did while serving our country. But I have to say, that yes while all that is very impressive, I remember And will always remember him as my dad. Guerry and Linda were my military parents, I remember spending lots of my time with them, Guerry loved his Choc Milk for breakfast, he was my silent protector( he made sure everyone knew that I was his daughter and not to mess with me) at the club on base while I worked there. I havent seen Guerry and Linda for years but if youve ever been in the military you can relate to me when I say the friends that you make while in the military are more then just fly by the night friends they are FAMILY that no matter the number of years that go by they are still close to your heart. These pictures are of a gift that my Mom and Dad gave me for Christmas in 93. Reflections is the name of the print and as I sit here I reflect back on my time with my Military Mom and Dad. Guerry you will be missed by many, Linda you will be in my thoughts and prayers while you go thru this tuff time of the loss of a wonderful man, husband and father. I love you Guerry!
