My home Syria: My heart bleeds, but I cannot do anything save give a few pounds. My mind informs me that the problem is not of monetary origin and requires a political solution. I realise most profoundly the tension present within the Islamic theology, the wish to act and the humble realisation that you are powerless. But that does not deter me. For I remember my hero, the bravest of men, at the battle of Uhud. Did he (saw) not earnestly petition GOD? And should I not also. For the hearts of men are divided even whilst they fill the masjids. And our fate lies in HIS hands.
