My home was substantially damaged during the Sandy event, My - TopicsExpress

My home was substantially damaged during the Sandy event, My flood and home owners insurance paid me. With funds of my own (much of my own funds) money from flood insurance and home owner insurance I demolished my home, had a new modular built. Before I started demo, I received a call from my flood insurance adjuster telling me they missed quite a few items when they paid my claim - like the brick front of my home which fell off from the waves hitting my home and a three season room in the back of the house which had up to 4 feet of water in it, two walls collapse, the block foundation moved and literally 9 to 12 cinder blocks knocked out from the pressure of the bay water/ The adjuster requested I get estimates for these items, It took about 6 weeks to find a licensed contractor to give me an estimate because everyone being so busy with actual work and not wanting to just write estimates. I finally did submit an estimate to my flood insurance companys adjustment company. Right after submitting the estimate of $48,000 I demolished the home because in the meantime of all the above I was moving forward trying to get back into a stable living environment after being moved 4 times with my son and dogs the stress and expense was overwhelming. A week or so after my home was demolished I received a call from the same adjuster from my flood insurance company telling me they made a mistake. after reviewing my file it appears we paid you twice on a few items and if you pursue going after the sun room and front of the home you may owe us money and you dont want to be in that situation would you?. I was taken back by his statement and I have not responded to his statement to me, His words have been working in the back of my mind that he may have been threatening me. I work about 10 to 15 hours a day just to pay the mortgage on a home I could not live in, my home that was deemed uninhabitable by the township and I have incurred other expenses since the storm. Now am settled back in my new home. My question is, should I pursue the sun room and front of the home, I have photos of the damage and estimates to repair but I feel when the insurance adjuster called me they (the insurance adjuster) knew the home was demolished and made that threat because they may feel I had no evidence, but I do with the photos, contractor estimates and neighbor witnesses. Should I pursue this claim or is it a waste of my time. RREM told me yesterday I am not qualified for reimbursement even though I was approved for the grant because I applied for the grant in May 2013 but started the work September 2013 which I did because in the summer of 2013 I received a letter from RREM I was on the wait list which I thought at that point I would never see any kind of grant money. If anyone can suggest who I can contact for help? Please!
