My hopes for 2015... I hope that we all spend time doing things that matter, things that move the ball of life down the field, things that make it better... And I hope we pepper that with real rest, deep laughs, good music and great fellowship with people whose presence lifts our spirits and warms our heart. I hope that this year those prone to feelings of emptiness or purposelessness will feel the pull to shut out the noisy distractions and reach out in search of their Creator... I have a memory, one growing ever more vague, of what that felt like... and a couple of decades of Him showing me what purpose and fulfillment is. I didnt expect it and, having experienced it, I wouldnt trade it for all the gold on Earth. I hope that our hearts will remember again and again that love, forgiveness, empathy and grace overcome the devilish cauldron of division, envy and hate were so often having served up before us. I hope that every trial, every pain, every trouble that comes your way and mine is faced with wisdom, perseverance and a rewarded trust that this too shall pass... and when it does, I hope we use what weve experienced and learned to help others through their tough days. I hope that those suffering from easily curable maladies like loneliness and boredom will find us flooding in to be the cure. I hope that this young generation wont believe the hype this year... hope still lives and YOU can make things better. Well help. My hope, directly at you my friend, is that a year from today every person around you gets a bit tired of hearing you chatter on about how amazing your 2015 was, how blessed you were, how much you learned and gained and loved and experienced, how the surprises were good ones and how youve never felt so amazed by life.
