My house caught fire .... it was an electrical fire... thankfully - TopicsExpress

My house caught fire .... it was an electrical fire... thankfully my family is safe... however the fire department ruled the house uninhabitable. That happened at 5 AM ... Contacted the owner who knew PREVIOUSLY there were issues and failed to repair them ... Now this is how FAMILIES die in fires because of people like him and the way the system puts landlords rights ahead of tenants based on their social economic status this is a video of me confronting the landlord. It now 5 pm and I told him he needed to refund my $1250 in rent I JUST paid him I recorded it as well as the conversation we had earlier and the news need to hear the initial phone call this video was taken when Red Cross was still here the phone call needs to be heard by a news reporter to show how these landlords treat tenants and I personally have gone through plenty with north minneapolis landlords which is why I learned to record and get things in writing ... I have a trail of emails as well as receipts. The owners name is Minh Lu he owns/manages several properties in North Minneapolis ... Also I have an email from him propositioning me to commit fraud on a local state agency as well YES in writing hes that dumb or thinks I am... I kindly declined but kept the email for my records... the City also failed me because the house had a previous fire and law states he was supposed to have a special fire inspection to clear the house for rental the city never demanded that and granted him a rental license against law... note that he has not returned to assist my family in anyway and is not picking up his calls... This is how stuff like this happens have they done anything better with laws and regulations to prevent these tragedies my experience has been NO! startribune/local/minneapolis/245522591.html
