My husband and I are at Folly for three glorious weeks !!!! We just checked in Saturday and will be her until October 3rd. I spent every summer here as a child in the same house we are renting now. It use to belong to my aunt and uncle, Dr. JY White and his wife, Nell, from Orangeburg. It has been many many moons since I have slept in this house but when my head hit the pillow Saturday night, memories came flooding back. You know......Folly never ever leaves you. It sinks deep down into the marrow of our bodies and resides there for the rest of our lives. We renewed our wedding vows Sunday for our 30th anniversary and seeing our children and grandkids in this house where I played with my cousins all those years ago, brought tears to my eyes. I love Folly. Simply put.....I adore this place. The plan is to move here one day. I dont know when but I do know that it is going to be so very hard to leave in three weeks. Until then.....I will soak up every single sunrise and listen to the many ghosts of years past that fill the walls of this house.
