My husband and I are looking for our 2nd home/retirement home. I am pretty sure we will rent long term first. We lived on Isla Mujeres for six months in 2013. We love Isla, but one of the things we want is a church home, preferably Baptist, and Isla has one, but only in Spanish. We need one is English. We will be looking for at least a 2/1.5 house or condo. It MUST be pet friendly as we will be bringing our fur-babies. My husband is a dive instructor on the side and I work with animal rescue. We have been thinking of Belize, because of the English language, but everywhere you live, except in Belize City or near there, you would have to take a puddle jumper to get to your place. With Cozumel, you fly directly in and you are home. Any helpful info for making a decision will be greatly appreciated; area to rent, Realty Co. to use, etc. Merry Christmas to all.
