My husband and I just had an interesting conversation. Being so tall, standing six foot five, he finds himself on the receiving end of glares from strange men. They will size him up send through their scowls a primal challenge. We pondered why this seemed to happen so often. I postulated that it is our animal instinct at play. Humans are animals whether we like to admit this or not (thank you Darwin!). It is through education, the pursuit of reason and intelligence alone that elevates man above fight or flight or the primal need to challenge the potential competitor. Thus, education is the key catalyst to the evolution of man and ignorance the road to his demise. -pmb-
