I am not one who goes with tradition very often, so he is under strict instructions to not eat too much Christmas fare at work today, and when he gets home, we are having Peking Duck with pancakes for dinner. After hunting high and low yesterday for spring onions, I couldnt find any anywhere. Can you believe that. Onion is too strong a substitute. So, as I have asparagus in the fridge, I thought I would blanch them and finely slice them longways as a substitute. Not as good, but still crisp and fresh in texture. Cant wait.
