My husband recently joined the ranks of this group of unemployed and over 50. The news is devastating as well you all know. The repercussions of what this will mean in the next few months are even more devastating. Seeing all our hard work investing in our lives going down the toilet and loosing the American dream to retire and pass on our life’s work to our children is a lot to overcome. We are fighters and will try all we can to keep going however politically this needs some real action. Those who are out there in this situation need to find their Democratic Senator’s email and phone numbers as well as their Republican Senators and make it a daily or weekly or even monthly commitment to bring this up to them. Do something. Tell them your story. Tell them legislation needs done to protect over 50 workers in this country. They do so for all other classes of people, all minorities, handicapped, all other races, immigrants, Why cripple the middle aged middle class workers without recourse to rebuild their lives? What is the point of crippling industry and small businesses by the regulations imposed from this administration? Why is there not a campaign or just a mention from government programs to hire the experienced, mature, and good employees who are unemployed due to just downsizing and health care costs concerns?
