My inimitable hosts, Erik Knutzen and Sarah Gemmill-Knutzen rented this incomparable villa in Provence, between the village of Boulbon and Tarascon. The villa itself is nestled in a sheltered vale between the limestone hills and the Rhône River. Surrounded by an ancient limestone wall, the grounds are a veritable oasis, like that in the classic Italian film The Garden of the FItzi-Continis. This video tries to capture the flavor of that most special place, the insistent burr of cicadas heralding a hot bright day, the intense Provençal sun, the beautiful gardens, the airy and rambling villa itself, and the spacious, impeccably landscaped grounds including the petonque court and the separate pool and cabana.
