My interest in Somali issues is humongous. I penned my proposal with such an avidity that proved that I love Somali people so much. Although I am currently interested in textual strategies somali migrant characters use in Diaspora in Safi Abdis fiction I will focus on causes of violence among them for my pHD. For your information, Somalis have virtues that I admire. I am hybriditized, as Homi Bhabha would say. They are quite honest. Wizi wa shilingi mbili that we find among bantus they dont like. Somalis dont bargain as such. if they have no money, they would not waste their breathe pleading. They are enterprising and aggressive. They love their families; if one is a millionnaire, all the siblings are millionnaires. if Somalis just got united under one government kenya would not match Somalia. But these clan and religious wars among them makes me sympathize with the Somali. Safi Abdis Offspring of Paradise is harrowing tale of the Somali Civil War and the havoc it causes on the Marehan clan. I was so moved by her work, thanks to Doctor JSK Makokha for exposing us to such works by debut novelists from Somalia
