My investigation is about Down Syndrome: Down syndrome is a naturally occurring chromosomal arrangement that has always been a part of the human condition, being universally present across racial, gender or socioeconomic lines, and affecting approximately 1 in 800 live births, although there is considerable variation in all around the world. Down syndrome usually causes different degrees of intellectual and physical disability and associated medical issues. The American of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends to make a test for Down Syndrome to all pregnant women. There are two types of test: 1- Screening Test: Is for identify the probability of a mother carrying a baby with the Down Syndrome. 2- Diagnostic Test: Can identify whether the baby has Down syndrome. The screening for Down Syndrome is offered as a routine part, even when the test isn’t perfect, can help to make a good decisions about the diagnostic test and the course of the pregnancy. After birth, the initial diagnosis of Down syndrome is often based on the babys appearance, but for being 100% sure it must to make a test called Chromosomal Karyotype. Using a sample of blood, this test analyzes the childs chromosomes. If theres an extra chromosome 21 present in all or some cells, the diagnosis is Down Syndrome. Thank You. Hope you liked it.
