My job roll is really changing as I transition into a more managerial position. You would think it would be less work, and in a lot of ways it is, especially physically... But I really didnt anticipate how difficult it would be to let go of doing everything myself, along with the extensive planning and forethought required... Im finding it is much easier to give directions when I have the weeks expected duties all written out and divided between my employees... And to split it up in a way that utilizes the specific talents and strengths of each specific crew member. Learning a lot right now about maximizing produtivity, getting the best finished product possible, being a leader and finding ways to get the most out of my money from my guys. Really thankful for my team members, they not only do their jobs well but they also work great together and have an eagerness to learn how to do things the right way... Which means I have to learn how to be the most effective and efficient teacher that I can be. Now I understand why teachers make lesson plans and have a syllabus, haha... I need to improve on being an effective purveyor of knowledge; Ill get there soon, though, working hard on it! Now back to work... Writing up assignments for the next couple weeks. Its a whole new experience for me, but Im embracing the learning and the challenge in order to continue providing my customers with the best possible product that they have come to expect from #WGroupBuilding ! To be the best, you can never rest!!
