My kids have good hearts, but sometimes the heart gets in the way - TopicsExpress

My kids have good hearts, but sometimes the heart gets in the way of reason. Bellamie will be getting a dog of her own, someone about Poppys size, maybe a bit bigger. We have hunted across the USA to find a few good matches. The issue we have run into has been transport. I am VERY specific with what we need in a canadate to join our family! I need a not larger than 20-30 pound pup 9Poppy is around 10), who is great with kids and other dogs. While I dont need a genius I do need somone who wont bug old emo nonstop to play.I also need a pup who like Poppy doesnt bounce on Bellamie. (Poppy thinks Bellamie is hers and gets very upset when the baby isnt happy) and finally our new family member must know the difference between family in the house and strangers around the house! Poppy would bite someone IF they messed with Bellamie. I honestly dont think she would be able to do much. Now Enmo is a different story, he will tear ya up if you messed with that baby or anyone else in the house. BOTH our dogs know the difference between who should be in the house and who should not be. Basically I dont mind if the new pup barks and goes nuts at strangers, but I dont want him/her doing so everytime a GK comes over to visit! Now the girls want every dog at every rescue no matter what! I wish I had the room and money to take them all. BUT since I dont I am putting on the blinders. I think this is driving them nuts! I need to keep an eye on them! Ill come home from thre grocers and find 37 beagle hanging out on my sofa!
