My landlord is an admirable man. He is at least 93 years old...yet he animates, thinks and speaks as if hes in his 40s or 50s. He still walks as good as anyone a quarter of his age. Like many old timers, he deeply treasures his principle of no work, no pay. If more people saw this man, they would be blown away at how strong he is even at his age. He is one of the last of the old generation Filipinos, so he and his wife speak fluent Spanish in addition to Tagalog. They speak to our favorite contract worker, who is Mexican, so naturally. He has given my family a great Christmas gift. New bathroom tiles, new bathtub, new toilet room tiles, new toilet base, new living room windows to replace the ones that were shot at twice this year, new kitchen counter for my mother to work on, new kitchen cabinets, and so forth.
