My last day as a Maryland resident.... My birthplace. Im leaving. The place I was a child...with my brother by my side. Im leaving. Where I suffered so much as a child...and where I discovered that God is greater than my trials and tribulations and mightier than the evil that tried to break me. Im leaving. The place where my four children were born...the greatest loves of my life. The greatest joys of my life. Im leaving. The place my heart was broke and taped back together on more than one occasion ....where once, my heart was shattered, pieces missing now....where those missing pieces will forever remain. Im leaving. My belongings packed and on a truck....Im preparing to put myself and my dog in my car tonight at midnight, and drive to my new home. Im leaving....the first half of my life is quickly becoming a page in my memory book. Im sad and happy. Scared and hopeful. Uncertain and excited. Im leaving....I oddly already feel as though Im an outsider here in the place Ive always been. Im leaving.... And arriving...to start the second half of my life.
