My last post reached over 1million people. For the past day, I have tried to read as many of the over 3200 comments that I could about the post and the murders of Officers Liu and Ramos. Firstly, I appreciate people taking the time to write and engage in an issue that is clearly on everyones mind. As usual, most comments were thoughtful, honest and truly fostered good dialogue on an issue that I think is one of the most important issues facing our country today. The remaining comments, well you know what they were like. Many of you know that I am a law and order type of guy. Served 35 years in the military, respect the law, want our country to be a nation of laws and respect the Constitution and all the rights and privileges it provides us. I am also thankful for all of our military, police and other people that keep us safe. I like many of you, I was angry about what happened to Officers Liu and Ramos. Also like many of you, I have mixed emotions and deep concerns about where our country is going when it comes to civil discourse and quite frankly - just getting along. I have my own thoughts as to how we got to this point and will share them tomorrow. But now, I am asking you. When did this country get so divisive - us/them, black/white, rich/poor, 99%/1%, main street/wall street? Is there plenty of blame to go around? Is one person or group responsible more than another person or group? Can it be reversed? Where do we go from here? I welcome your thoughts and concerns and look forward to reading them.
