My late mom used to make Chex Mix. She used the old recipe, not the new one they have now with the bagel chips and crap in it. She used to make huge batches, but I take this recipe and cut it in half and roast it in the oven in a big fish fryer. This is the way it used to taste. I use mixed nuts, and swap the garlic salt for powder to cut down a little on the salt. But, this is the best. Warning: this amount makes a HUGE batch, consider cutting in half 2 sticks of butter, melted 2 tbs garlic salt 2 tbs onion salt 2 tbs celery salt 1 tbs Worchestershire sauce 1 small box of Cheerios 1 small box of Wheat Chex 1 small box of Rice Chex 1 small box of Corn Chex 2 lbs of mixed nuts 6 oz of bite size pretzels Combine butter, garlic salt, onion salt, celery salt, and Worchestershire sauce in a mixing bowl. Place cereal, nuts, and prestzels in a large roasting pan, and mix. Pour sauce over and mix thoroughly. Cover with foil, and bake at 225 degrees for 1 hour with the foil on, remove foil, and bake another hour. Stir frequently while baking. Let cool, and store in air tight containers or jars.
