My late uncle Bernard Gorfinkle, signed up as a sergeant in 1913. Rode with Pershing in his campaign against Pancho Villa, Served with Pershing in WW1. Wounded twice at Verdun,field promotion to Captain/JAG, was an aide to WIlson at Versailles. Military honors from the US,France and a knighthood from Belgium. Col. Gorfinkle served as Field Supervisor of the War Manpower Commissions during WW2. Promoted to Brigadier(Ntl Guard) by Mass. Gov. John Volpe My father, Nathaniel enlisted and served in Naval Ordnance in WW2 at muntions storage/research facilities. Thanks them both.
