My latest computer networks assignment involves writing about 7 lines of code to complete a Go-Back-N algorithm. However, the testing framework was originally written in (probably poor) C++, recently ported to Java to improve ease of use. The code formatting is more or less nonexistent, and the documentation consists of either stuff that refers to the original C++ half the time or JavaDocs (ie they document what is obvious from the code and dont tell you the why). I have yet to make any headway — its like trying to reverse engineer obfuscated binary. The assignment is due today. The midterm is today. We havent had class in three weeks. The professor is out of town.
