My latest resort fee rant. How would this make you feel as an individual business traveller? Daily Resort Charge of $30 per night will be added to the room rate and includes: Guest internet access (I already get this per my status at this chain); PS3 console games/movies (wont use); cultural activity lessons (wont use); resort audio tour (wont use); outdoor exercise classes (wont use); personalized postcard (dont care); dive in movies (sure, whatever); local, toll-free and credit card calls (no access fee) (I have a cell phone and wont need this. As does the majority of the population these days). I wont mention the chain and location out of respect but at least at one of their nearby competitors I get one free cocktail per day (ok, a $30 cocktail in reality) included in the resort fee. Hotel friends, when and where is this going to stop? Why dont you just call it what it is - youre inflating the rates, not offering an opt out, and in some jurisdictions even taxing it.
