My latest travel experience.... I left home at 3-30pm on Monday to fly to Jhb and then on to Beijing (reason for going via Beijing and not Hong Kong, was that there were NO business class seats available on the Hkg flight and there was if I went via Beijing and instead of a 12.5 hour flight, the other route is 15 hours! Which is a better option than traveling in the back of the plane on such a long haul with back to back appointments! Any way, we arrived in Beijing at 8-45pm Tuesday night and have a connecting flight to Ningbo at 10-15, boarding at 9-45!! The only problem being that 2 out of the 3 of us traveling togethers luggage never arrived, SAA hadnt loaded our suitcases out of Jhb, this we found out after wasting time with the chinese baggage controllers!!! Regardless, we told them to send through our luggage to our next stop after Ningbo, which is Shanghai. Cool, all sorted and all we have to do now is get from the international terminal to the domestic terminal to catch our flight!!! Nobody ever mentioned to us that this was a bus ride that takes 30 minutes.... Needless to say we missed our flight and we find ourselves now stuck in Beijing! Oi, what to do now as we on a tight trip with plenty of stops in different cities and planned appointments!! We bumped a local guy that was in the same position as us and he came up with the idea of flying to Hangzhou which is 2 hours drive from Ningbo, so we managed to buy new tickets to catch the last flight to Hangzhou, which was a 2 hour flight and all 4 of us are now cramped into an old taxi racing to Ningbo! Time over here is 1-45am and Im writing this out of sheer boredom while on way to our destination. Either I can be totally stressed out or just accept it and enjoy the experience, still deciding... And this is just the start of our trip!! Sent from my iPhone
