My latest tuition for one class has gone up to $638.00 almost a 10% increase. Will any of this go to the cleaning staff? No- it seems it must go to the higher ranking execs as they have been getting almost 9% a year. I think every labour dispute has to be judged on its own circumstances. There cannot be any assumptions that either side management or labour is always correct- too political for me. In this case I think the university has really dropped the ball. These are not transitional part time student jobs. People are trying to make a living with less than $14.00/hr wage with no benefits. Its insulting to say that only those with Phds deserve raises. Universities are getting more elitist every day- funny that- since they are often the first group to complain about the 1% corporate fat cats. Looks they are trying hard to join them.
