The fuel rod removal, that will start in November, is a nightmare of complexity. If a rod is dropped or cracked. The release of radiation from the pool at reactor 4 would be 10 times Chernobyl. And if all the spent fuel pools ignite - it would be 85 times Chernobyl. The currents from Japan in the sea will bring this to the pacific coast. From what I can tell, it would render the coast uninhabitable for decades. Some scientists state that basically the Northern Hemisphere would become uninhabitable. This is the number 1 security problem in the world right now. The great nations such as the US, Germany, China and Russia should take over this operation. This is really serious and raises questions about other similarly designer Mark 1 reactors. I am truly shocked this is not the number 1 security issue in the world.
